How to Perfectly Measure Your Ring Size at Home

Before buying your engagement or wedding ring, it is important to get the sizing just right. Here is a guide to measure your ring size in your own  home. This will help you to find your dream ring that will last forever. Here are a few quick tips.

Wrapping Floss Or String:

Take a short floss or string and wrap it around your finger. This is typically the finger you are planning to purchase the ring for. Now mark the point where the string overlaps with itself.

This mark will indicate the circumference of your finger. After that, stretch the length of the floss or string along with the ruler. This will give you the length in millimetres. Now compare this measurement with the charts that we have shown above.

Please note that ring sizes, in general, increase by 0.4 mm for every half-size. Also, try not to pull the floss or string too tight, by doing this, you may measure the ring size smaller than your finger, which will result in choosing a ring size slightly too small.

Taking help from Your Existing Ring:

Now, this process is easy because you are taking a measurement with the help of your already existing ring, which perfectly fits on your finger. To do this, wear the ring and measure the interior diameter of the ring in millimetres. When you have done the measurement and get the right size in mm, follow the chart above and select the appropriate size.

Buying Ring Sizer:

There are different ring sizers available on the market that can help you to measure your finger size. They generally aren’t too expensive and can help give you an accurate ring size before making your purchase. However, we still suggest you measure your finger size on your own using our detailed chart.
